Three areas of Berkshire have recorded an increase in the number of positive coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours, the latest data from the Department of Health and Social Care shows today (August 1).

UK-wide, another 74 deaths associated with Covid-19 have been recorded in hospitals, care homes and the wider community, bringing the total up to 46,193.

The number of cases now stands at 303,952 after another 771 were confirmed in the past 24 hours.

In England the NHS has said patients were aged between 78 and 84 years old and all had known underlying health conditions.

In Slough, there are five more confirmed cases, West Berkshire has one more, and Bracknell Forest has two more.

The total number of cases in the county now stands at 3,383. No new deaths have been reported and the total remains at 571 across Berkshire NHS trusts.

This is the latest breakdown of cases per area:

Reading : 803 cases (no change)
Slough : 669 cases (increase of five)
Wokingham : 607 cases (no change)
West Berkshire : 494 cases (increase of one)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 420 cases (no change)
Bracknell Forest : 390 cases (increase of two)
