Another 21 people in Berkshire have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the past two days, according to the latest data from Public Health England released today (August 12).

A daily update wasn't available yesterday due to what the Government website said were "technical difficulties", with the statistics only being updated this evening.

Berkshire's total number of positive tests now stands at 3,469. Slough saw a spike in cases, with 13 new ones confirmed in the past two days. Reading has another five and there is another one each for Wokingham, Windsor and Maidenhead, and Bracknell.

Across the UK, another 77 people are reported to have died with Covid-19 today and the figure for Tuesday was 102. The death toll now stands at 46,706. There are 1,009 new cases today and an additional 1,148 from Tuesday, bringing the total to 313,798.

This is how they break down of cases for each area of Berkshire:

Reading : 817 cases (increase of five)
Slough : 715 cases (increase of 13)
Wokingham : 613 cases (increase of one)
West Berkshire : 500 cases (no change)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 432 cases (increase of one)
Bracknell Forest : 392 cases (increase of one)
The total number of death remains unchanged at 572 across Berkshire NHS trusts, as detailed below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 364
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 188
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20
A-level students have been instructed not hug each other if they pick their results up from schools tomorrow morning.

Headteachers have told pupils they should not embrace even if they are feeling emotional when they check their grades.

Any teenagers who go into school have been told to uphold social distancing guidelines.

Headteachers are worried that large groups of students will meet at school, "many of whom are likely to be emotional and so will find social distancing even more challenging than usual", the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) told the Telegraph .
