CHECKING A HYPERLINK WITH AN iPad:

I knew someone out there would know the answer.  I have received this from John - It is not a simple as with a computer / normal laptop - but it is possible with an iPad:

Hi
Assuming you are using the Apple supplied email program, you can look at the ‘issuing email address’ and also ‘a link’, if there is one.

If you press firmly on the ‘From’ name, then release, you’ll get a pop-up dialogue box, showing the email address.

Similarly, pressing on a ‘link’ and releasing, will reveal the real address.

Best Wishes
John

Thanks John, not as easy as ‘hovering’ over an email / Link, but it is still possible, to see the real sender.

NEXT:  Last year we made some Fraud Warning videos, using local actors, who were acting out what actually happened.  They did a brilliant job and bring the message home:

For more scam and fraud information, please go to Action Fraud, where there is a lot more details about specific scams and frauds.

We do have an issue with people losing waste amounts of money on investment frauds.  NEVER DEAL WITH ANYONE WHO COLD CALLS OFFERING BRILLIANT RETURNS ON MONEY INVESTED.  IF IS SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - IT IS EITHER CRIMINAL, OR A SCAM !!!

If you have invested with someone who cold called have a look at this page on the Action Fraud website.  Billions of pounds are lost in these scams.

If having read the details on those pages and feel you may have been a victim, your first port of call may be Trading Standards, who are extremely helpful and run our Scambuster Team, offering advice and support.

DON’T LET IT BE YOU
