The coronavirus infection rate is falling in all but one borough in Berkshire, according to the latest figures published by Public Health England.
Only a few weeks ago Slough became the first Berkshire town to be placed on the Government's "area of concern" watchlist. But since being taken off the list the area's infection rate (the number of new cases per 100,000 people) has continued to decline, falling from 26.1 to 17.4.
People with a lab-confirmed positive test for Covid-19 for the seven days to September 15 have also dropped over the period to 26 compared to 39 the previous week.
Reading's rate fell by more than three times the previous week's figure from 21.6 to 6.2, with the number of cases dropping from 35 to 10. West Berkshire's infection rate also continues to decline, and the area has the lowest in the county with 5.0.
The only area in Berkshire to see a surge in the rate was Windsor and Maidenhead as it almost doubled to 40.3 compared to last week's of 26.4, as the number of Covid-19 cases jumped from 40 to 61 over the seven-day period.
