Author Topic: Coronavirus death toll in Berkshire rises according to latest NHS data  (Read 1354 times)

There has been one further death related to coronavirus recorded in Berkshire over the past 24 hours, according to data released by the NHS.

The number of positive tests throughout the region has also increased by 60 in the same time period.

Across the UK, the death toll now stands at 42,445 and 515,571 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

This represents an increase of 72 and 14,542 respectively.

In Berkshire, there have been 60 more cases recorded - including 21 in Reading, Berkshire.

There has also been an increase of 11 in Slough, and eight further cases in Windsor and Maidenhead.

One further death was recorded at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

This is how the figures break down in terms of cases for each area of Berkshire as of October 6:

Reading  : 1,037 cases  (increase of 21)
Slough  : 1,088 cases  ( increase of 11)
Wokingham  : 807 cases  (increase of 7)
West Berkshire  : 667 cases  (increase of 7)
Windsor  and Maidenhead: 768 cases  (increase of 8 )
Bracknell Forest  : 546 cases  ( increase of 6 )    
The total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire is now 592, as detailed below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 374  (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 199 (increase of one)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20  (no change)

The rate of Covid-19 infections across the UK has almost doubled in a week.

The UK-wide seven-day rate currently stands at 125.7 cases per 100,000 people, up from 63.8 per 100,000 a week ago, analysis by the PA news agency shows.

When it comes to daily figures, as of 9am on Tuesday, there were 14,542 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

These have trebled in a fortnight – on September 22, there were 4,926 cases recorded.
