There has been one further death linked to coronavirus recorded in Berkshire over the past 24 hours, according to figures released by NHS England today (October 15).

Another 141 positive tests have also been reported in the same time period.


Nationwide, the death toll now stands at 43,293 and 673,622 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

This represents an increase of 138 and 18,980 respectively.

In Reading, Berkshire, there has been a rise of 23 cases in 24 hours, and 27 new positive tests have been recorded in Slough.

One further death was recorded at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

This is how the figures break down in terms of cases for each area of Berkshire as of October 15:

Reading    : 1,194cases   (increase of 23)
Slough     : 1,295 cases     ( increase of 27)
Wokingham     : 948 cases     (increase of 22)
West Berkshire     : 766 cases     (increase of 12)
Windsor    and Maidenhead: 1,013 cases     (increase of 41)
Bracknell Forest     : 647 cases    ( increase of 16)     
The total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire is 600, as detailed below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 377  (increase of one)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 205
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20

Today (October 15), Italy, San Marino and Vatican City State have lost their exemptions from the UK’s quarantine requirements for international arrivals, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced.

The new rules come into force at 4am on Sunday.

The Greek island of Crete will be added to the exemption list for people arriving in England as the risk to public health from those returning from there “has decreased to an acceptable level”, the DfT said.

Italy recorded its highest daily number of coronavirus cases on Wednesday, with 7,332.
