Coronavirus in Berkshire round up - Tuesday, November 23

ALMOST 200 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Berkshire in the past 24 hours, according to latest figures.

Public Health England has recorded 197 lab-confirmed cases in the past 24 hours in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.

These figures, correct as of 4.48pm on Monday, November 23, bring the county's lab-confirmed positive Covid-19 tests total to 13,001, according to Public Health England.

The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:

Reading - 37 cases, 2,489 total

West Berkshire - 14 cases, 1,582 total

Bracknell - 7 cases, 1,335 total

Wokingham - 30 cases, 1,945 total

Slough - 69 cases, 2,239 total

Windsor & Maidenhead - 40 cases, 2,239 total

The latest 7-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:

Reading - 157.6 per 100,000 people

West Berkshire - 99.1 per 100,000 people

Bracknell - 107.7 per 100,000 people

Wokingham - 114.5 per 100,000 people

Slough - 345.7 per 100,000 people

Windsor & Maidenhead - 161.8 per 100,000 people

There have now been 1,527,495 cases of Covid-19 across the UK – as of Monday, November 23 at 4.48pm.

The total number of deaths - those with Covid-19 listed on the death certificate - across the UK has now reached 63,873.

Plans to allow families to reunite over Christmas will be thrashed out by the Government with the leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

A Cobra meeting bringing together the UK Government and the devolved administrations will be held on Tuesday afternoon to agree on a four-nation approach to relaxing coronavirus restrictions over the festive period.
