The coronavirus vaccination programme is progressing at speed across the country.

The government revealed on Monday, April 12, it had hit its target three days early for every person aged over 50 to be offered a vaccine.

Now, people aged over 45 across Berkshire will be arranging their vaccines - although the demand led to the NHS website crashing.

And as lockdown eased it was coupled with the infection rate plummeting across the county.

In January, the rate in Slough was more than 1,200 per 100,000 people. The latest figures from Public Health England show it is now 60.2 in the week ending on Thursday, April 8.

That is the highest in Berkshire.

The lowest is in West Berkshire and is just 13.3.

This means there are now large parts of the county where the rate is fewer than three active cases.

Public Health England cannot give the exact numbers as it could identify people in those areas who have tested positive.

Here are the neighbourhoods in RBWM with fewer than three cases:

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead

Datchet
Old Windsor & Wraysbury
Pinkney's Green & Furze Platt Road
Furze Platt
Cookham and Waltham
