Another 36 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Berkshire in the latest daily figures announced on Sunday evening (April 18).

Slough saw the biggest increase, with 17 positive tests, while all other areas recorded a single figure rise.

The total was slightly down on the 41 cases reported yesterday.

Statistics from Public Health England also show that weekly Covid infection rates have also fallen in four areas of the county - with the only increase in Bracknell Forest.

Reading, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham all saw a decrease, with no change in West Berkshire.

Slough remains the area of Berkshire with the highest infection rate, at 66.9 per 100,000 population.

No new Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded at hospitals serving Berkshire, with the total since the start of the pandemic remaining at 1,780.

Meanwhile, across the UK, the Government said a further 10 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 127,270.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 1,882 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,387,820.

These are the latest rolling seven-day infection rates for each area of Berkshire, expressed as the number of cases per 100,000 of population

Bracknell Forest: 30.2 (increase from 29.4 )
Reading: 26.6 (down from 32.1)
Slough: 66.9 (down from 70.2)
West Berkshire: 14.5 (no change)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 25.8 (down from 27.1)
Wokingham: 15.8 (down from 18.7)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic:

Bracknell Forest: 7,051 cases (two new cases)
Reading: 10,855 cases (six new cases)
Slough: 15,389 cases (17 new cases)
West Berkshire: 6,330 cases (six new cases)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,427 cases (one new case)
Wokingham: 8,176 (four new cases)

This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,247 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (no change)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)

How many people have had a Covid vaccine?

Government data up to April 17 shows that of the 42,780,069 jabs given in the UK so far, 32,849,223 were first doses – a rise of 139,445 on the previous day.

Some 9,930,846 were second doses, an increase of 499,635.
