Another 238 cases of coronavirus have been found in Berkshire in the last 24 hours to Monday (August 2), down from 246 yesterday.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 72,521 cases of Covid-19 in Berkshire, according to the latest update from Public Health England.

One person has also died in Bracknell Forest, taking deaths there to 166.

The highest number was found in Wokingham, where 50 positive tests were returned.

Reading now has the highest seven-day infection rate at 243.2 cases per 100,000 population.

Nationally, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 21,952 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

A further 24 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 129,743.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 154,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending July 2:8

Wokingham: 241.9 (down from 250.1)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 225.2 (down from 237.7)
West Berkshire: 222.8 (down from 228.5)
Slough: 207.3 (down from 226)
Reading: 243.2 (down from 246)
Bracknell Forest: 217.7 (down from 249.7)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 14,360 (+33)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10,867 (+40)
Slough: 17,789 (+47)
Bracknell Forest: 9,652 (+31)
Wokingham: 11,187 (+50)
West Berkshire : 8,666 (+37 )

Government data up to August 1 shows that of the 85,336,436 Covid jabs given in the UK, 46,872,411 were first doses, a rise of 21,266 on the previous day.

Some 38,464,025 were second doses, an increase of 118,184.
