Another death and a further 512 cases of Covid-19 have been reported across Berkshire in the last day.

The latest death was recorded in Bracknell Forest.

The latest official figures published on Wednesday evening (October 6) show that Wokingham - with 104 - had the biggest increase in the latest 24-hour recording period.

The total also includes 102 each in Windsor and Maidenhead, and Slough, 89 in Reading and 58 in Bracknell Forest.

West Berkshire had the smallest increase today, with 57 more positive tests for the virus.

Government data up to October 5 shows that of the 94,085,830 Covid jabs given in the UK, 49,035,877 were first doses, a rise of 41,347 on the previous day.

Some 45,049,953 were second doses, an increase of 28,572.

The Government said a further 143 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 137,295.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 161,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 39,851 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending October 1:

Reading: 304.4 (down from 323.1 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 360.9 (up from 353.7 )
Slough: 327.6 (up from 308.9 )
Bracknell Forest: 297.2 (no change)
Wokingham: 329.4 (up from 324.2 )
West Berkshire: 193.1 (down from 213.9 )

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 19,306 (+89)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 15,606 (+102)
Slough: 21,868 (+102)
Bracknell Forest: 12,819 (+58)
Wokingham: 16,032 (+104)
West Berkshire : 12,734 (+57)
