Three new coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Berkshire along with more than 630 further cases of Covid-19.

The deaths happened in West Berkshire, Reading and Slough, according to the latest figures published this evening (Tuesday, October 26).

The statistics showed that 634 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Berkshire within the last 24 hours.

Reading had the highest number of new coronavirus cases in Berkshire with 189 positive tests returned and its total number of cases now stands at 21,527.

The area with the lowest number of cases in the past day was Bracknell Forest with 71 new cases, which takes its total since the pandemic began to 14,377 overall.

Nationally, the Government said a further 263 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 139,834.

Because of technical issues at Public Health Wales yesterday, the UK cases and deaths reported today include data covering a 72-hour period for Wales.

As of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 40,954 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Government data up to October 25 shows that of the 95,335,928 Covid jabs given in the UK, 49,753,037 were first doses.
Some 45,582,891 were second doses.
